However, in the fight itself, I wasn't able to apply them according to the plan. So, during the break, I consciously went back to my strengths and told myself that I simply have to trust myself. That worked surprisingly well. Thanks to the experience of many fights in various combat sports, I know that anything is always possible. Since this fight, it's once again the absolutely clear focal point for me: I give my best performances when I trust myself.</span></p><p><span><strong>You are often referred to as the "Fighting Housewife". What does this term mean to you personally?</strong></span></p><p><span>"The Housewife" is my nickname because I have "Huusfrau" tattooed on my knuckles, which means housewife in Swiss German. I am immensely proud of my housekeeping skills, which are often underestimated nowadays. Since I was born in 1976, things like knitting, crocheting, cooking, baking, and cleaning have always been completely normal to me. Every day I enjoy good food and a clean home. The fact that this brings smiles in the world of combat sports seems great to me. It simply shows that one doesn't have to fit into just one box.</span></p><p><span><strong>You bring a wealth of life experience into the cage with you. What do you see as your greatest advantage over younger opponents?</strong></span></p><p><span>I wouldn't say that life experience or age is directly an advantage in the cage itself. That depends on skills, performance, strength, and fight IQ. My life experience helps me more in coping with wins and losses. But I have to honestly admit that I am absolutely terrible at losing. I am very ambitious and every defeat hits me hard. But maybe that's exactly where my advantage lies. It's very difficult to break me mentally.</span></p><p><span><strong>How did you perceive the fan reactions after your last fight? Did anything change for you because of it?</strong></span></p><p><span>My life takes place mostly offline. People around me like me or dislike me regardless of wins or losses. But I was really extremely happy about the online reactions from the fans. It's great to see how many people feel motivated to try something themselves or not to let age and limitations hold them back. I received several very touching messages from people who wrote to me that they now approach life with much more courage. How do you deal with this role?</strong></span></p><p><span>I know that I very often go into these fights in the position of an underdog – as someone the younger fighters are supposed to measure themselves against. But I am definitely not here to pave the way for anyone. If someone wants to get past me, they have to earn it the hard way.
