Nakonec ale slovenskému bijci ustoupil a raději začal svazovat Čepa na pletivu, aby se alespoň na chvíli ubránil jeho tlaku. Čepo se ale jen tak zpomalit nenechá, při první příležitosti se znovu pustil do šílené přestřelky a tentokrát už byl úspěšný. Zasáhl Kartala několika dobře mířenými údery, které ho otřásly, a nakonec si došel pro KO jako z učebnice. Surdu měl sice halu nakloněnou na svou stranu, ale na jeho soupeře mu ani upíří odhodlání a chuť po krvi nestačily. Jotko dokázal dobře pracovat v postoji, ale především na pletivu a následně na zemi, kde doslova dominoval. Surdu dal do zápasu všechno a do poslední vteřiny se snažil zvrátit jeho průběh.
