ENGIZEK VS. ONISZCZUK

The middleweight champion faced a tough test against a last-minute replacement from Poland. From the start, Engizek was visibly cautious but composed. Oniszczuk wasn’t overly active but read his opponent extremely well. And when he did strike, it was impactful. We witnessed three rounds of stand-up action, with constant tension that an early stoppage could happen—but it never came. The fight was filled with intense focus on both sides, but ultimately, the champion's superior quality prevailed. He knew exactly what he was doing, staying much more active throughout the fight. Engizek won all three rounds on points, but with great respect for his opponent and with the overwhelming support of the roaring Düsseldorf crowd behind him.

ESKIEV VS. WANDERLEY

This was a tough grind for the favored Eskiev! Brazilian Wanderley certainly didn’t look like someone who had accepted the fight just two days prior. In the first round, he came within inches of finishing the hometown favorite. He forced Eskiev into a cautious and strategic mode, balancing on the fine line between victory and defeat. However, Lom-Ali managed to turn the tide in the second round—first by chopping down his opponent’s leg and then gradually dismantling him. Wanderley’s resilience was unbelievable, even Eskiev seemed surprised at how much damage the Brazilian could take. Eventually, the fight moved to the ground, where Eskiev delivered the final blows in an endless series of powerful strikes. Euphoria for Düsseldorf, but also a commendable performance from Wanderley.

PEŇÁZ VS. ZAWADA

David Zawada wasted no time and applied pressure from the very start. He landed clean strikes and then engaged in a long clinch battle at the fence, where Peňáz, as always, refused to be taken down. Zawada certainly pushed the Czech fighter to his limits, and when their clinch battle ended, less than a minute remained in the first round. That’s when Peňáz saw his moment. He seized the momentum and unleashed a barrage of punches and kicks. The hometown fighter crumbled right before our eyes. There was no doubt about the winner when the referee stepped in. Peňáz secured his spot in the million-dollar tournament and earned his tenth OKTAGON victory without a single loss. Could this be Matěj Peňáz’s year?!

TIPSPORT PERFORMANCE OF THE NIGHT: LENGÁL VS. ILBAY

Although the previous fights had their fair share of drama and surprises, Lengál and Ilbay took things to a whole new level. Two elite strikers showcased some ground skills, but the main action took place on the feet. In the first round, Ilbay miraculously survived a clean knee strike from Vlado, which seemed to fuel him and score him some crucial points. The breathtaking exchanges continued, and in the second round, it was clear that Vlado was running out of gas. Ilbay capitalized on this and finished him with a devastating combination in under 30 seconds—one that the Czech fighter had no answer for. "El Pistolero," with a bonus for the best performance of the night in the bag, has fired another deadly bullet!

KOHOUT VS. AKIPA

The opening bout of the main card brought plenty of drama and kept the judges busy. Wild exchanges, heavy strikes, and intense clinch battles—it was all there. However, one fighter had the upper hand. Tonight, that was Akipa. Faster, sharper, and technically superior in all three rounds. Kohout, though, was not far behind. Entering the third round, knowing he needed a finish, he went all-in, landing several powerful shots that briefly rocked Akipa. However, he always fell just short, missing the one or two crucial strikes needed to seal the deal. In the end, Akipa won by decision, but with full respect to his opponent for a strong performance.

KHAJEVAND VS. RAYOMBA

Hojat Khajevand wasn’t fazed by a last-minute opponent switch. The first round was evenly matched—until the second minute. Rayomba was so focused on defending against potential takedowns that he completely overlooked the possibility of being punched. Khajevand took full advantage, landing a perfectly timed, powerful right hand that sent his opponent crashing to the mat. He followed up with ground strikes to make sure the fight was over, but the referee was already stepping in. An outstanding punch—Khajevand secured his spot in the million-dollar tournament with a single strike. In this sport, anything can change in an instant!

SOLAJA D. VS. FEDERICO

The second Solaja brother delivered the first fight of the evening to go to the judges’ scorecards. The fight started as a striking battle, and when Federico finally got Solaja to the ground, he surprisingly showed little offense. The referee stood them back up due to inactivity. From that moment on, Solaja regained control, landing a brutal high kick to Federico’s forehead and dominating the rest of the round. As the second round began, Solaja was in complete control, showcasing his superiority. The pattern continued until the final bell. Federico had a few brief glimmers of hope, but fatigue prevented him from pulling off a miracle comeback. The judges were unanimous—another home victory for Düsseldorf!

AL VS. KOVÁČ

Al set a relentless pace against Kováč, who was making his professional debut—a brutal debut at that. Al opened up Kováč with a strike that drew blood, then took him to the ground. After failing to secure an armbar, he switched to a relentless ground-and-pound strategy. The Slovakian debutant initially defended well but couldn’t hold out for long. The referee stepped in, making it official—Al claimed a dominant first-round victory.

DULATOV VS. IGHZAWI

It seemed like the prelim fighters were in a hurry tonight! Dulatov, another Düsseldorf native, received thunderous applause from the crowd. He entered the cage alongside his brother and didn’t waste any time. After just 16 seconds (and without a single strike), he locked in the fastest guillotine submission in OKTAGON history, forcing Ghith to tap out. Dulatov almost seemed disappointed that he didn’t get to fight longer, but one thing was certain—he gave the home crowd another reason to celebrate.

SOLAJA Z. VS. ELIÁŠ

The first Solaja brother followed the evening’s fast pace. After Eliáš refused to touch gloves, Solaja wasted no time, charging in with a flurry of strikes. Eliáš had no response—not even when Solaja slipped and fell to the ground. Instead of capitalizing, Eliáš seemed to just catch his breath before being hit with another barrage of strikes. After 94 seconds, it was all over—he came, he saw, and he conquered in his own city, just as Zoran Solaja had envisioned.

SMAJIĆ VS. MISTELI

The night began with a massive surprise. Many doubted the oldest fighter on the OKTAGON card, as reflected in the betting odds. Smajić took the first round, and the 12:1 betting odds against Misteli seemed justified. But no! At 2:30 of the second round, the Swiss fighter shocked everyone by securing a Rear Naked Choke, forcing the nearly 20-years-younger Smajić to tap. A stunning moment right at the start of the event—wow!
