His career, however, is above all a story of comebacks and overcoming severe trials.</p><p>In 2021, Samsonidse suffered a complicated tibia fracture in a bout with <strong>Yassine Trabelsi</strong>, requiring surgery and resulting in a two-year layoff. Upon his return, he entered OKTAGON in convincing fashion, securing wins over <strong>Roman Paulus</strong> and Romanian fighter <strong>Nicolae Hantea</strong>. Another pivotal moment came in the title fight with Keita, who stopped Samsonidse hard in the second round and caused a fractured jaw. Another surgery followed, along with roughly a ten-month break.</p><p>Despite all the obstacles, Samsonidse never gave up on his goal of becoming OKTAGON champion. He is currently riding a two-fight winning streak and <strong>aims to complete his long journey by capturing the title in Stuttgart</strong>. At just 26 years old, he already has 18 professional fights under his belt, with a record of <strong>16 wins and only two losses</strong>. He is an extremely experienced veteran with an incredible<strong> 44 professional fights</strong> under his belt. His record stands at <strong>33 wins</strong> and just 11 losses, with the vast majority of his victories coming inside the distance – thirteen by KO/TKO and thirteen by submission.</p><p>His move to OKTAGON immediately sparked massive interest among fans and media alike. Materla is one of the biggest icons of Polish MMA, and his debut in the yellow-and-black cage will be one of the highlights of the night in Szczecin.</p><h2>FORMER CHAMPIONS FACE TOUGH TESTS</h2><p>But the stacked program does not end there. Fans can also look forward to elite clashes featuring former champions who will face extremely demanding challenges in Szczecin.</p><p>One of them is former OKTAGON welterweight champion <strong>Ion Surdu</strong>. The Moldovan fighter has long belonged to the absolute European elite.
