What makes him such a dangerous opponent?</strong></p><p> He’s very heavy – for me, almost like a welterweight. That can be an advantage, but also a disadvantage, because a big weight cut costs strength. In the first round, he comes forward very aggressively and wants to finish quickly. That’s exactly what we prepared for. I expect we’ll meet in the middle of the cage.</p><p><strong>Does that change your game plan at all?</strong></p><p> No, it doesn’t. You have to stay focused against any opponent. I don’t see him as just a striker. I’m prepared for everything, and whatever comes, I’ll use it against him.</p><p><strong>So how are you preparing for his strengths?</strong></p><p> I focus on what he does best. My job is to turn his weapons against him and run him over. Although the early moments favored the German fighter, <strong>Machaev </strong>decided the fight with a perfectly timed hook that sent Samsonidse to the canvas. Less than two minutes into the title bout, a<strong> new featherweight champion </strong>was crowned.
