He connects it with his Chechen upbringing: "We grew up fighting, everyone taught us to be a man. A man must know how to fight, a man must protect his family." Today, his relationship with his new home is completely different. "Today I meet Germans on the street and they tell me: you make us happy, you bring honor to our country," he adds proudly.<h2>THE LONG ROAD TO THE PROFESSIONAL CAGE</h2>Before he first encountered MMA, Dulatov went through a solid school of combat sports. He started with boxing, competing in over fifteen amateur bouts. Gradually, he added kickboxing. After years in the ring, he transitioned to MMA, and his very first amateur fight indicated that he possessed more than just heavy hands. In September 2018 at Integra FC 10, he defeated Jan Roth by choke in the second round, showing that despite his striking roots, he knew how to finish a fight on the ground. His record speaks clearly. Five professional fights, five wins, all before the distance, and he has never seen a second round. His debut at OKTAGON 66 in Düsseldorf ended with a guillotine choke in 16 seconds, making him the holder of the fastest submission win in the organization. First, he lost on points to Michał Dreczkowski, then to Maciej Różański, and finally came a TKO from Alejandro Arcas. "It was a challenging period. I didn't have much fight pace, and even though I was working at 120% all the time, some detail was always missing. After the second loss, I changed a lot, pushed even harder, and even though everything looked great, the third loss came. That was a sporting tragedy for me. However, I kept working, got a chance in OKTAGON, and seized it. I believed the whole time that I would turn the streak around," Garba describes.Today, he trains at the Polish gym Berserkers Team Bielsko-Biała. "There are a lot of very high-quality guys in Berserkers, not only in my weight class, who also have great results. Here in Silesia, finding big guys who are comprehensive in MMA is simply a problem. I'm definitely not saying we don't have any here, they are just not in one place, and there are fewer of them than in Poland. In my eyes, MMA in Poland is something of a national sport, and that reflects on the quality of the training. That the consistency paid off and that one must never give up. I take it as a reward for all the hard work, and I am grateful to OKTAGON for this opportunity," Garba looks back. Speaking without hesitation about where he wants to take his career in the organization: "I want to reach the top.
