Nedlouho poté, co se jeho účast potvrdila, však přišlo zranění, kvůli kterému nemohl nastoupit v Ostravě. Vy fanoušci jste ale rozhodli o tom, že si zaslouží druhou šanci. Tu dostal v květnu ve Frankfurtu, kde na body porazil Sardariho. Pánové dostali druhou šanci v Birminghamu, bez neustálých šarvátek se to ale neobešlo.
