A new light heavyweight champion was born, a long-standing ground control record fell, and the bantamweight champion survived the toughest fight of her career. THE WOMEN'S WAR OF THE CENTURY CLOSED THE CARD

The bantamweight title fight between the undefeated Lucia Szabová and UFC veteran Lucia Pudilová offered a real war. Pudilová flew into the fight aggressively and safely took the first round for herself, but from the second round onwards, Szabová took the reins. She was more accurate in the stand-up, took control on the ground, and gradually neutralized her opponent's pressure at the fence. It only emerged after the fight why Pudilová used her right-hand attacks less and less from the second round: she was fighting with a thumb broken into six pieces, yet she lasted until the final gong. Szabová eventually celebrated a unanimous decision victory, extending her undefeated streak to 12-0 and remaining the only two-division champion in OKTAGON history. She admitted after the fight that it was the toughest test of her career.

A REPLACEMENT THAT CHANGED HISTORY: MURADOV IS THE NEW KING

The story of the second title fight of the evening began twelve days before the tournament. When original challenger Daniel Škvor tore his pectoral muscle in training, it seemed Will Fleury's defense was in jeopardy. The challenge was without hesitation accepted by Makhmud „Mach" Muradov, the interim middleweight champion, who stepped up a division for the first time in his OKTAGON career for this fight. It was historically the highest-ranked men's match in the organization's history.

Fleury, who arrived at Štvanice undefeated in OKTAGON, started the duel exactly according to the script. He pushed Muradov against the fence, got him to the ground, and hit him hard in the final seconds of the first round. Muradov went down and was likely saved from a certain finish by the gong. However, a completely different fighter entered the second five-minute round. Muradov immediately headed to the center of the cage and, nineteen seconds after the start of the round, unleashed a shot that sent a dazed Fleury crashing to the ground. He then definitively ended the match via TKO with a final series of strikes. OKTAGON thus crowned a new king of the light heavyweight division, while Fleury tasted the bitterness of defeat in the organization for the first time. After the fight, both fighters showed mutual respect, and at the press conference, the first words about a possible rematch were spoken, potentially even at the upcoming milestone OKTAGON 100 tournament.

PINK PANTHER DEFEATS A LEGEND AND HEADS TO THE STADIUM

For David „Pink Panther" Kozma, this was a fight with huge personal stakes that he had created himself before Štvanice. He publicly challenged Christian Eckerlin to Frankfurt, so he couldn't afford to slip up against Zawada. He eventually succeeded thanks to a practically flawless tactical performance. From the first minute, he delivered precise takedowns, held his opponent at the fence and on the ground, and didn't allow him to find his own rhythm. Although Zawada landed several dangerous strikes in the third round, Kozma confidently managed the finish and walked away with a unanimous decision victory.

The performance also had historical significance. Thanks to his flawless ground control, Kozma definitively broke the previous record of Karlos Vémola for the total ground control time in OKTAGON history. Furthermore, the win opened the door to his dream match. Eckerlin has answered his challenge. The clash between the legend of Czechia and the legend of Germany is officially confirmed for the OKTAGON 94 tournament, hosted on September 26th at Frankfurt's Deutsche Bank Park.

THE OSTRAVA EXPRESS AND OTHER CARD HIGHLIGHTS

The OKTAGON 92 card offered other stories worth remembering. In a thrilling encounter against the dreaded Hafeni Nafuko, Tomáš Mudroch showed phenomenal takedown defense and punished from a defensive position with precise strikes. The „Ostrava Express" thus secured a highly valuable split decision victory after a balanced battle.

A Czech derby between two young talents was decided in favor of Jakub Batfalský, who outpointed Vojtěch Khol after a very tactical performance. The first fight of the tournament then took the fans' breath away. Ivan Klevets hit his opponent Kevin Enz with a spinning back kick directly to the chin in the middle of the first round, securing a brutal KO.

WORLD RANKING SHIFTS

The performances at Štvanice were immediately reflected in the world rankings:

Makhmud Muradov – by winning the title, he catapulted himself among the world elite, from 36th to 27th place.
Lucia Szabová – After the toughest fight of her career, she improved from 14th to 12th place.
David Kozma – a huge leap from 264th to 169th place confirms his return to the winning column.
Ivan Klevets – with a lightning KO in the first round, he jumped from 931st to 656th place.

A natural drop was recorded by the losers of both title matches. Will Fleury fell from 32nd to 42nd place and Lucie Pudilová from 35th to 40th position.
