EXPERIENCE MORE TOURNAMENTS
AND THOUSANDS OF EMOTIONS WITH US!
OKTAGON 50 is not just another tournament in the series. It is an important historical milestone that we have reached together. Thanks to our dreams and the will to make them come true, thanks to the hard work we do with passion and determination. Thanks to our brave and amazing fighters. But above all thanks to you, the best fans in the world, without whom this incredible ride would not be possible.
From the Královka Sports Hall for 2,000 spectators, we made it all the way to the largest arenas in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany and now also in Great Britain.
From a simple idea born out of a love for combat sports, OKTAGON MMA has evolved over the past 7 years of its existence into an international organization. This incredible MMA show has deeply impressed all combat sports fans in Europe and beyond and is one of the reasons why OKTAGON has received four nominations at the prestigious The World MMA Awards as well as being ranked among the top five organizations in the world.
Our gratitude and huge thanks go to all of you who come to support our fighters. Without you, our efforts would be meaningless. You are our driving force, our pride and inspiration.
Join us on this incredible journey
WHAT HAVE WE ACHIEVED TOGETHER IN 7 YEARS?
In the beginning, there was an idea to do it differently
Everything was born from a basic idea. To popularize MMA and show that combat sport is not just a fight in a cage, but also a journey to understanding oneself, finding respect, order, and humility. Together with you, we write stories about perseverance, will, desire to win, the art of accepting defeat, the ability to learn from failure, and not to give up. Stories that are constantly evolving. Because there is a fighter in each of us.
As in every new country where OKTAGON begins to operate in the field of MMA, so too did the historically first tournament in the Czech Republic begin with a Challenge. It culminated on December 10, 2016, in Prague’s sports hall Královka, where Slovak fighter Gábor Boráros won the final of the first series of OKTAGON Challenge, defeating Jakub Běle in less than 4 minutes of the first round.
OKTAGON 3: The First Štvanice
Here began the story named Štvanice. A place that can enchant anyone who watches the fights of warriors under the open sky. A story that ended in 2023
OKTAGON 15: Fight of the Century Vémola vs. Végh
Light-heavyweight and the long-awaited "Fight of the Century." Attila Végh is the only Slovak who has ever won Bellator. Karlos Vémola is the very first Czech to appear in the UFC and managed to win there twice. Brutal roar and chanting of both names. An atmosphere that Czech-Slovak MMA experienced for the first time and probably not the last.
May - July 2020
The Covid situation in 2020 affected everything and everyone, including combat sports. The organization had to cancel the tournament originally planned for March for this reason. Therefore, during the Covid lockdown, the founders of the organization came up with a unique project called OKTAGON Underground. The first OKTAGON Underground was a series of 7 tournaments in which fighters competed in several weight categories according to modified rules.
OKTAGON 33: The First Tournament in Frankfurt
A new era of OKTAGON beyond the borders of the Czech Republic and Slovakia began with tournament number 33. The fall of Buchinger, as well as the victorious return of Karlos Vémola. Frankfurt was the venue for several great matches at the world level. Christian Eckerlin permanently entered the history of OKTAGON and became one of the main faces of German MMA.
OKTAGON 40: The MMA Champions League Starts
The launch of the Tipsport GAMECHANGER project, which literally demolished the boundaries of rewards in European MMA. In Ostrava, 16 of the best fighters in Europe, including the popular Czech David Kozma, who narrowly won on points, threw themselves into the cage. The winner of the unique million-euro pyramid will eventually take home 300 thousand euros (7.1 million crowns). The grand finale between Serbian Veličković and Greek Michailidis will take place on December 29, in the Prague O2 arena.
OKTAGON 45: Farewell to Štvanice with a Double Tournament
When for the last time, then in a big way! We concluded our journey at the iconic Štvanice with two tournaments in a single weekend. The Saturday halftime show and the emotional speech by Ondřej Novotný thus marked the end of the story named Štvanice, where the main stars of the organization alternated during 7 years and 7 tournaments.
OKTAGON 48: The First Tournament in Manchester
The first tournament in Britain was marked by great expectations. The battle of TV stars Paul Smith and Jake Quickenden, the finale of the reality show OKTAGON Challenge: England vs Ireland, and the title match between Aby and Garcia. The juicy menu brought over 4500 spectators to the AO Arena, who created a tumultuous atmosphere, and the present media rated the tournament as one of the very best they have ever attended in terms of both sports and visual aspects.
OKTAGON 49: Breaking Record Attendance in Germany
After a year and a half and five tournaments on German soil, the largest hall in Germany, the Lanxess Arena in Cologne, followed. The biggest names in German MMA, Eckerlin, Ilbay, Moeil, or Stolze attracted an incredible 20,000 fans. This sum meant only one thing: breaking the attendance record for an MMA tournament in Germany, which UFC had held for many years.
