Zdá se ale, že tuhle překážku Matěj skvěle překonal.&nbsp;</p><p>„<em>Před prvním zápasem po zranění jsem s tím samozřejmě v hlavě trošku bojoval, ale už jsem stihl dva zápasy a tři přípravy, vše bez problému. Mentálně mě to tedy nijak netrápí,</em>” oznámil skvělé zprávy.&nbsp;</p><p>Stejně klidně a soustředěně přistupuje Matěj také k přípravě. I přesto přiznává, že určité rozdíly nastaly.&nbsp;</p><p>„<em>Tímhle zápasem mohu vážně hodně získat, je to velká motivace. Ale každý zápas je pro mě vždy ten nejdůležitější a přizpůsobuji mu úplně vše. Žádné velké změny se neodehrály, až na specifické nácviky na daného soupeře a samozřejmě větší důraz na kondici, jde o můj úplně první zápas 5x5 minut,</em>” říká o aktuální přípravě a dodává, že na to, co bude dál, zatím vůbec nemyslí a nad budoucností v případě výhry i prohry nijak neuvažuje. Zásadní je 8. červen. Úplně poprvé jsem na Edenu byl na natáčení promo videa a musím říct, že se těším na atmosféru a zaplněný stadion lidmi,</em>” odpovídá na otázku, zda má k domovu pražské Slavie nějaký vztah a pokračuje:</p><p>„<em>Karta je navíc plná výborných zápasů, Petrášek vs. Sami, Kozma vs. Surdu, to jsou určitě ty, na které se nejvíc těším. Ale nejspíš je uvidím až ze záznamu, protože se budu soustředit na svůj fight. Většinou přijdu na turnaj, podívám se na první dva tři zápasy, nasaju atmosféru a chuť do zápasu. Pak už se soustředím jen sám na sebe,</em>” popsal klasický průběh zápasového večera.&nbsp;</p><p>Kromě těšení na Eden ho ale čeká ještě jedna náročná příprava: ta svatební! It’s a Chinese martial art that’s not only about standing strikes, kicks, and punches but also incorporates various holds, throws, and sweeps to bring down opponents.</p><h2>A CAREER IN JEOPARDY</h2><p>Not all of this French fighter’s moments have been bright. A few years ago, he suffered a nasty motorcycle accident that put him out of commission. These two know each other well, but more on that later. Todev, the Bulgarian powerhouse, isn’t much for words, choosing actions instead. Weighing in at 120 kilos with eight KO wins, he’s pure terror, as Pałasz can attest, having been Todev’s stepping stone to the title shot for the second time. But that first title fight left Todev seriously angered…</p><h2>THAT BELT SHOULD HAVE BEEN MINE!</h2><p>These two aren’t exactly on friendly terms, and their second clash in the cage promises anything but kindness. Their first bout left fans expecting a quick finish, but the fighters surprised everyone – a tense waiting game, careful tactics, and chilling calm through all five rounds. Then the shocker: the crowd and Todev himself were sure he was ahead, but the judges unanimously declared Moeil the winner. Boos erupted, and Todev’s fiery response only fueled the tension. Karlos Vémola confirmed his fight with Will Fleury, and the cage saw incredible surprises, rapid finishes, as well as resilient and tough battles. The miraculous Buki showed once again that retirement is far from sight, Apollo dominated splendidly, and Pukač secured a major victory in his hometown. It was a rough night for Roušal and Fodor, as Palokaj and Lapilus left everyone breathless with their wins. Aby engaged in a long and grueling fight with OKTAGON's newest powerhouse, and Zhumagulov lived up to his reputation. Despite a dramatic first round, which we’ve come to expect from Buchinger, there were some nerve-wracking moments when a quick end seemed inevitable. But he survived, didn’t give up, and it paid off. In the second round, he came at Nafuka with wild intensity, growing hungrier with each strike. Nafuka, caught off guard by this resurgence, quickly became overwhelmed. And after the third minute of the final round, it was clear – there had been enough hits. A Slovak miracle, the best performance of the night. Buki left his gloves in the ring briefly as if signaling a farewell, only to pick them up again during the post-fight interview – he’s not done yet!</p><oktfightcomponent fightid="1071"></oktfightcomponent><h2>KERTÉSZ VS. APOLLO</h2><p>Years of experience have refined both OKTAGON veterans, from whom we expect top performances. Apollo was clearly better in the first round, controlling the fight with seasoned skill. The second round was more balanced, both in terms of action and scoring. But the final round erased all doubts. Apollo turned the match entirely in his favor, delivering powerful strikes right until the last seconds to make a statement. DIEDRICK</h2><p>Robo Pukač came out swinging from the first round like a beast. He delivered powerful strikes to Diedrick and gradually won over not only the crowd but also the judges. PALOKAJ</h2><p>The first round showcased Ryšavý at his best, as fans love to see him – sharp and on top form. Judges saw it similarly, with two out of three favoring him. ZHUMAGULOV</h2><p>Two seasoned fighters did not disappoint. Aby sustained a cut on his head in the first round that bled heavily but didn’t slow him down. By the second round, Zhumagulov was in control, with the wound monitored by a doctor, who let the fight continue to its conclusion. In the end, Zhumagulov took the final round, mainly thanks to punches that seemed to belong in a different weight class. Aby fought valiantly, showing little fatigue, leaving fans wondering what might have happened if it went further. A high-quality match and a successful debut for OKTAGON’s new star.</p><oktfightcomponent fightid="1040"></oktfightcomponent><h2>ROUŠAL VS. MAGUIRE</h2><p>While Maguire entered to a song sung by his sister, Roušal chose his usual prison attire. What followed, however, was unlike anything we’d seen from Roušal before. He won the first round, although his opponent wasn’t far behind. In the second round, Roušal landed a hard punch, knocking the Irishman down. Roušal came close to ending the fight, delivering a flurry of blows until – an amateur mistake. Roušal naively fell into a choke and within seconds, Maguire celebrated a huge win via Triangle Choke. Our organization has sold over <strong>530,000</strong> tickets, so we’re on the road to a million. To put it into perspective, printing that many tickets would take about 10 days. Luckily, we’re eco-friendly! And just to be clear, following counts exclude UNDERGROUND events, otherwise, we’d probably lose track.</p><h2>OKTAGON MARATHON? PLAN YOUR VACATION</h2><p>If you’re planning to binge-watch from OKTAGON 1, we recommend informing your workplace. The total viewing time is <strong>4 days, 18 hours, 36 minutes, and 29 seconds</strong>. We hope your boss is a fan too!</p><h2>KO, SUBMISSION, OR DECISION? THE NUMBERS DON’T LIE</h2><p>Things get wild in the OKTAGON cage, and sometimes the judges might get bored! Finishes before the limit are much more common than decisions. There have been <strong>284 KOs</strong> and TKOs, and <strong>152 submissions</strong>, across <strong>16</strong> different submission techniques. In the first round, fights ended 262 times, more often by KO. A total of <strong>280</strong> fights have gone the distance and ended by decision.</p><h2>DRAWS? NOT REALLY!</h2><p>Draws are rare here – it’s usually all or nothing. Across 62 events, there have only been <strong>7</strong> draws, with two "no contests" (can you remember who caused them?). And only <strong>1</strong> disqualification, so thank you to the fighters for behaving honorably in the cage!</p><h2>A FULL PLANE OF FIGHTERS</h2><p>A total of <strong>540</strong> fighters have competed in the yellow-and-black cage. To those who arrived later that evening, we sincerely apologize...</p><p>On the other hand, <strong>OKTAGON 61</strong> in September in Brno was a true marathon – if you thought it was the longest event ever, you guessed right. It broke the record not only in length but also in the number of fights that had to go to the judges. Fighters took their time, battling it out for <strong>2 hours and 26 minutes</strong> in the cage. Not to mention the battle with sleepiness at 1 AM during the press conference!</p><h2>FINISHES GALORE</h2><p>Blink, and you would’ve missed <strong>OKTAGON 12</strong> – where a record number of KOs and TKOs were set in one night, totaling <strong>9</strong>. ENGIZEK</h2><p>Kerim Engizek’s entrance naturally left no one in the stadium cold. Czech fans got to experience what it’s like when the crowd boos their beloved champion, Kincl, on a grand scale. Engizek’s fans kept pushing him forward, while they let no mistake from the Czech representative go unnoticed. The audience enjoyed all five long rounds. Both fighters were very cautious, but Engizek showed just a bit more courage. And it paid off—round by round, he read Kincl better and better. By the fourth round, there was a glimmer of hope for the champion, but it was just a flicker. The judges were clear from the start, only occasionally scoring a round as even. And so, to the delight of the crowd in the arena and the disbelief of Kincl’s fans, the longest-reigning current champion was dethroned. From the very start, Martin overwhelmed the shocked champion, and tens of thousands of spectators held their breath more and more. The first three rounds went to Martin, which undoubtedly shook Dalisda’s confidence. This only made it easier for Martin, who took her time and meticulously dismantled the champion, leaving the stadium in shock.
