A jeho dětství nebylo vůbec jednoduché. Když mu bylo 7 let, jeho otec byl odsouzen k několika letům vězení, což zasáhlo celou rodinu. Matka nezvládla těžkou situaci, a tak byli Kerim a jeho mladší bratr umístěni do dětského domova, kde strávili 10 let svého života. V prostředí, kde platil "zákon silnějšího", se Kerim musel rychle naučit, jak se postavit za sebe i svého bratra.</p><p>Kerim tak prošel opravdovou cestou bojovníka – z ulice se musel probojovat až na vrchol a moc dobře ví, kolik tahle dřina stojí.</p><h2>BOX JAKO ÚNIK</h2><p>Ve svých teenagerských letech se Kerim plně oddal boxu, čímž nejen ventiloval svou frustraci z nelehké životní situace, ale také si mohl hezky přivydělat. Za klub TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen absolvoval přibližně 40 zápasů na nejvyšší úrovni amatérského boxu v Německu. Vše se ale změnilo ve chvíli, kdy poprvé uviděl zápas MMA. Byl fascinován a pohlcen. A tak do roka vyměnil box za MMA a jen o rok později měl svůj první zápas. A jak to dopadlo, to už víme – my, Kincl i rekordních 60 000 diváků, kteří tuhle bitvu uvidí.</p><h2>NA HRANĚ ZÁKONA</h2><p>Přestože sport Kerimovi poskytl určité východisko, drsný životní styl a práce vyhazovače v nočních klubech ho často přivedly na hranu zákona. A my tento příběh známe i od jeho soupeře Kincla. I Kerimova minulost zahrnovala časté problémy se zákonem – kritický zlom ale nastal při dalším průšvihu, při kterém byl jeho parťák zadržen policií. Tehdy si Kerim uvědomil, že pokud nezmění svůj život, skončí jako jeho otec za mřížemi. A svůj život změnil jednou provždy.</p><h2>Z HŘÍŠNÍKA VZOREM</h2><p>Dnes je Kerim nejen úspěšným zápasníkem, ale i otcem a podnikatelem. Aktivně podporuje děti, které vyrůstají na ulici nebo v dětském domově a snaží se je motivovat k tomu, že změna je možná. On sám je důkazem toho, že s vůlí lze úplně změnit svůj osud.</p><h2>DESET LET BEZ PORÁŽKY</h2><p>O Engizeka jevilo zájem i UFC, ale kvůli hříšné minulosti to s vízem do USA nevyšlo. To ale Kerima neodradilo. Pár let po začátku kariéry se stal šampionem welteru v jedné z německých organizací, a pás třikrát obhájil, navíc vždy před limitem. A dlouho na sebe nenechala čekat ani middleweight, ve které dnes vyzývá Kincla – i v nové divizi se brzy stal německým šampionem. The miraculous Buki showed once again that retirement is far from sight, Apollo dominated splendidly, and Pukač secured a major victory in his hometown. It was a rough night for Roušal and Fodor, as Palokaj and Lapilus left everyone breathless with their wins. Aby engaged in a long and grueling fight with OKTAGON's newest powerhouse, and Zhumagulov lived up to his reputation. In the second round, he came at Nafuka with wild intensity, growing hungrier with each strike. Nafuka, caught off guard by this resurgence, quickly became overwhelmed. And after the third minute of the final round, it was clear – there had been enough hits. A Slovak miracle, the best performance of the night. By the second round, Zhumagulov was in control, with the wound monitored by a doctor, who let the fight continue to its conclusion. In the end, Zhumagulov took the final round, mainly thanks to punches that seemed to belong in a different weight class. Aby fought valiantly, showing little fatigue, leaving fans wondering what might have happened if it went further. Our organization has sold over <strong>530,000</strong> tickets, so we’re on the road to a million. To put it into perspective, printing that many tickets would take about 10 days. Luckily, we’re eco-friendly! And just to be clear, following counts exclude UNDERGROUND events, otherwise, we’d probably lose track.</p><h2>OKTAGON MARATHON? PLAN YOUR VACATION</h2><p>If you’re planning to binge-watch from OKTAGON 1, we recommend informing your workplace. The total viewing time is <strong>4 days, 18 hours, 36 minutes, and 29 seconds</strong>. We hope your boss is a fan too!</p><h2>KO, SUBMISSION, OR DECISION? THE NUMBERS DON’T LIE</h2><p>Things get wild in the OKTAGON cage, and sometimes the judges might get bored! Finishes before the limit are much more common than decisions. There have been <strong>284 KOs</strong> and TKOs, and <strong>152 submissions</strong>, across <strong>16</strong> different submission techniques. In the first round, fights ended 262 times, more often by KO. A total of <strong>280</strong> fights have gone the distance and ended by decision.</p><h2>DRAWS? NOT REALLY!</h2><p>Draws are rare here – it’s usually all or nothing. Across 62 events, there have only been <strong>7</strong> draws, with two "no contests" (can you remember who caused them?). And only <strong>1</strong> disqualification, so thank you to the fighters for behaving honorably in the cage!</p><h2>A FULL PLANE OF FIGHTERS</h2><p>A total of <strong>540</strong> fighters have competed in the yellow-and-black cage. To those who arrived later that evening, we sincerely apologize...</p><p>On the other hand, <strong>OKTAGON 61</strong> in September in Brno was a true marathon – if you thought it was the longest event ever, you guessed right. It broke the record not only in length but also in the number of fights that had to go to the judges. Fighters took their time, battling it out for <strong>2 hours and 26 minutes</strong> in the cage. Not to mention the battle with sleepiness at 1 AM during the press conference!</p><h2>FINISHES GALORE</h2><p>Blink, and you would’ve missed <strong>OKTAGON 12</strong> – where a record number of KOs and TKOs were set in one night, totaling <strong>9</strong>. ENGIZEK</h2><p>Kerim Engizek’s entrance naturally left no one in the stadium cold. Czech fans got to experience what it’s like when the crowd boos their beloved champion, Kincl, on a grand scale. Engizek’s fans kept pushing him forward, while they let no mistake from the Czech representative go unnoticed. The audience enjoyed all five long rounds. Both fighters were very cautious, but Engizek showed just a bit more courage. And it paid off—round by round, he read Kincl better and better. By the fourth round, there was a glimmer of hope for the champion, but it was just a flicker. The judges were clear from the start, only occasionally scoring a round as even. And so, to the delight of the crowd in the arena and the disbelief of Kincl’s fans, the longest-reigning current champion was dethroned. From the very start, Martin overwhelmed the shocked champion, and tens of thousands of spectators held their breath more and more. The first three rounds went to Martin, which undoubtedly shook Dalisda’s confidence. This only made it easier for Martin, who took her time and meticulously dismantled the champion, leaving the stadium in shock.
